Josh scoffed as he finished off a stick of pocky. Words could not describe the hate he felt for the people in charge. Sometimes, he could not understand why their demands were so ridiculous. His brow rose as he stuck a stick of pocky between his teeth. "Do you clean all the bathrooms in the area? Hm? I thought so." His supervisor glared at him while Josh looked back nonchalantly. If they were going to be such assholes about everything, didn't that give Josh the right to be one right back? Josh sure thought so. "Look, boss. You don't have to deal with spending thirty minutes cleaning the bathrooms just to find out someone missed the urinal only a bit after you finished. At least if I clean it during the night, I know that it'll be clean for a good five hours before someone dirties it again." Josh let out a loud sigh as he closed the door behind him. It took Josh forever to convince his boss to do one little thing different. He honestly did not see the problem in cleaning the bathrooms at night. They were practically soundproof anyways. It's not like someone would be bothered by the noise. From what Josh saw, people were afraid to fall asleep. He would be too if that meant that he'd wake up screaming. Besides, if Josh was the only one cleaning up after everybody, shouldn't he have more leeway when choosing when to clean everything? The order they had set up at the CDC was completely messed up and stupid. As he wheeled the cart down the halls, his mind wandered back to the conversation he had with the soldier only a couple days before. There was something about the soldier that intrigued Josh. Never had he met someone who was willing to lay their life on the line for the sake of others. Josh didn't know whether it was a military mentality or a natural trait John. Either way, it made Josh want to follow suit. Plus, the soldier sure knew how to convince someone of something. Not only did he do the guilt trip, he also keyed in on Josh's fear and turned it against him. Those last words the soldier said hit Josh the most. He grinned. John was one to be feared and that's exactly why he was going to help the man. Josh quietly whistled a short tune from Snow White as he approached the rendezvous point. Never had he felt so crazy in his life yet so excited. The last year of his life had been absolutely unbearable. He didn't know how much longer he could last seeing random people disappearing into those operating rooms or having to deal with supervisors that wouldn't let their employees clean the bathrooms at night. To be given a chance at freedom, a very good one at that, was amazing. Josh opened the door to the bathroom and kicked the cart inside. He pulled out a couple spray bottles and began cleaning the bathroom. He was only planning to clean half of it and wait outside after. If anyone came by, he could lie and say he was taking a break. It was a precaution that forced him to do some work, but better safe than sorry. After finishing half of the stalls, he went to the sink and washed his hands. He stretched as he exited the bathroom and leaned against the wall. As he opened another box of pocky, he glanced down the halls in anticipation. Waiting was always the worse.
