PART I
( general rules. )
one. the most important rule is respect - which means, don't be an ass. this goes for members, guests, and especially the staff. do not start fights in the cbox. this is to be fun and friendly place. if you show respect, you will receive it. if you decide to throw it out the window, we will not question throwing you to the zombies.
two. plagiarism is not acceptable. at all. you will be banned and reported if you plagiarize anything. there will be no warnings for this and we surely won't listen to any excuses. plagiarism is a federal crime, punishable by law. and crime is not welcome here, thank you.
three. avatars should be no larger than 100x100. and signatures no larger than 500x300.
four. do not spam the cbox. it's unappreciated and we wouldn't do it to you. also, when making an affiliate with us, do not pester us about things. it's rude. and makes us not want to be associated with your site.
five. for each character you have, a new account is required. this makes it easier in keeping track of characters. that being said your display name should be your character's first and last name in all caps.
six. please note that everyone is responsible for keeping their characters active. there will be activity checks every month to keep track of who is active. it's required to post at least once a week with each of your characters. if you cannot handle that, you will receive a warning through PM. if you do not respond to it, then you will get an e-mail. if you continue to be absent, your characters will be put into the morgue until you return. that is, unless you post in the absense/leaving page to let us know. then you will be excused until your return.
seven. finally, this site is rated pg-13 because Proboards TOS explains that you must be 13 to join a Proboards website. That being said, this is also because there are zombies. Which means there might be some gore and mild language and possibly violence. Who knows, though.
eight. i would like you all to please refrain from using gif icons for your profile or as your icon for the cbox.
nine. when you sign up for the cbox, please have your name in all caps. it should be obvious enough, but oh well.
PART II
( character rules. )
one. this rule goes without saying: no mary-sues or gary-stus. if you don't know what that means, according to urban dictionary, it means a character that is annoying because he or she is too perfect.
two. that being said, anti-sues and stus are the exact opposite and are severely frowned upon. although this is a zombie-based roleplay, your character should have the will to live. that means, do not make them severely emo. it's not normal.
three. when it comes to weapons, the application says one gun, one melee. normal people do not keep street sweepers in their closet. generally, it's something like a rifle or a handgun. so. NO EXOTIC GUNS UNLESS THEY ARE HAVE BEEN PURCHASED FROM THE STORE OR WON IN A CONTEST!
four. as for taking canon characters, you have to have at least one character who is already active. then you may apply to take a canon. which means making their profile. if we don't like it, we don't have to accept you. simple as that.
five. okay, seeing as how I'm discovering a problem, this rule is in regards to making new characters back to back. Please, post with any newly made characters before making a new one. We need active members, not a shitload of characters doing nothing. So, if you would like to make a new character, you must have posted FIVE TIMES with any other characters first.
PART III
( posting rules. )

one. we at ETC, believe in a word count. now, you don't have to go and check to make sure you have the right amount required, but we hope you're able to post at least 250 words. if you can't handle that, it's okay. we're lenient on those kinds of things, honestly. we understand writer's block and such. but, that's what we're asking for.
two. proper grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, etc. is necessary if you wish to survive this place. there's a spell check next to the post button. use it. if you use google chrome, then it does spell check for you.
three powerplaying (taking control of another character, or doing anything that might involve forced hits. i.e. emoting that your attack connected.) and godmodding (playing god – for example being immune to all types of influence, injury, issues, or being almighty above everything and everyone.) is not allowed. At all. If you are caught doing so, you will get a warning, and then you will be asked to leave. that equals two tries. other things found on here can help to guide you what not to do. these are not proper roleplay etiquette.
four. although we allow the use of style tags and tables, it'd be appreciated that you do not stretch the page with them. if you use a premade one from places like OTE and BTN, please be sure to let the creator of the table know that you are using it. we will not be held responsible for you stealing things.
five. although gore, swearing, and nudity is okay here, we ask that you keep any sexual encounters between characters private and fade to black or something. it's not fun to read porn, just sayin'. swearing should not be overused - as in, do not say fuck every three words. nudity...well, that should also be kept to a minimum.
